hehehehe ... I saw that Quinn ... just could not swing it past the financial planner of the household

17 bills is a bit steep though dont you think ?

They're only about $1000USD in the US, apparently. J&L might be going for some serious profit.

A little secret for all you guys out there:

I've seen these eels on the lists for about $600 + shipping cost. Assuming, worse case scenario, they take up the whole box, that only works out to something like $800 (Vancouver) + GST.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you didn't hear it from me.

Good question. I recall seeing them sold in pairs at equvalent prices, but with saltwater fish, I seriously question any "mated" tags associated with them.

I've heard of them paired in aquariums on several occasions. Not that I'm suggesting that they're exclusively monogamous in the wild (adultery is common in many species besides humans), but when there's only one male and one female in a tank, they don't have much of a choice.

I think a pair of Genicanthus sp. angels would also be an excellent acquisition, and significantly less expensive.
