Tube anemone as killers/hunters of fish is an Urban Myth.

^^ Good read. Interesting that although they should be mainly filter feeders, many here seem to have experiences where they ate fish. I wonder if they are simply not getting what they need from these tanks and take the opportunity to eat a fish that happens to rest on them?

I only have about 5 minutes experience keeping a tube anenome because I tried one in with my puffers, so I don't know anything about them really except they look cool.

Either you have a very large tube anemone or a very small lion. My tube anemones reject anything bigger then half an inch

What color is the tube anemone. most of the reports i have heard about deal with the pink/orange ones.

I don't doubt that it was munching on your lionfish but a "smokin' gun" is not proof that it actually snagged it, then killed it and then started feasting on it.

Sorry for your loss. Lions are very pretty fish.
