because of the design of a PC they say that they have the potential to draw up to 10x the regular current when they are failing.. i am not sure I understand how this is possable as they are the same design as a regular tube just bent and smaller. i almost wonder if this apllies to the self ballasted ones as the only sights that have said this are on home lighting.. i am going to try find out more about this myself

Steve, it's my understanding that PCs are a VHO bulb or in the same class as VHO's.. (not bulbs but tubes), not sure if that makes a difference.

almost they are a HO T4 bulb. but bent to give more wattage in a shorter bulb.
