WOW, that thing is 32" tall?? Guess thats not supposed to be put under tank?

I'm looking for my next skimmer, But I am limeted on height

Yup, it is quite a beast. I am running it externally at the moment, but it can be in sump as well.

I just bought this skimmer used. Have you ever run it in the sump with the discharge submerged? I haven't hooked mine up yet. I could run it externally, but I kind of like the in sump thing. Thanks so much. Sorry for hijacking your thread.

You can run it submerged, but just not too high or it will have problems draining.
