Default Proposed setup

Hello all I would really appreciate some advice as I find the controller a bit intimidating.

I have already preordered the profilux 2 pack currently on promotion and have taken steps to upgrade to pro 3 (contemplating 3 ex)

My setup will be as follows,
120 gal with 30 gal sump SPS
2 mp40s
some brand of dimmible t5
2 thermometers, 1 in display, 1 in sump,
return pump
uv sterilizer
skimmer
and eventually a calcium reactor
small pump for TLF reactors,
Seperate 15 gal RODI ato tank

I'd like to be able to monitor, ph temp salinity orp and also control the calcium reactor. Also to control the ATO function. (Have I overlooked anything here??)

Can you please recommend to me which route I should take?
I'd really appreciate the help.

Hi,

I have done the following with Profi's for a few customers:

1 floater level sensor for high water alarm. Can send an email and shut off the UV in case of return pump failure.
1 opto level sensor for level control via ATO. ATO will require the dosing pump or some means of pumping water from ATO container to sump. Tunze makes a system for doing that. If you buy the 4 channel dosing pump then you can dose 3 part Balling and do ATO.

If you opt for the ex option you can have a 3rd level sensor of the opto style that can send an alarm if the water level drops too low... failed ATO, flooding skimmer, leaking TLF reactor etc.

If you want to control reactor pH then you will need an add on pH card and probe for the reactor outlet. Profi can control CO2 solenoid to allow CO2 into reactor via needle valve when it's pH is too high.

Make sure to get the GHL probes.

Cheers,
Tim

Thanks Tim.

To add to this I note you want two temp probes, in this case you will also require the expansion card PLM-Temp/pH this also gives you a second pH port so you have one for your reactor and one for the tank.

You system is quite large and based on your future requirements I do not think the starter pack is the right option for you it will be more cost effective to look at one of the out of the box GHL beginner packs, likely the P3EX beginner, your system seems to be calling for more than 4 power sockets.

I would go as far as saying to get the best bang for your buck if budget can swing it and go for the ProfiLux 3EX elite pack, this comes with nearly eveything you require other than the extra ph and temp, but talk to red corals who is dealing with your order and they will come up with a pack that will include this parts at a pack purchased rate.

The P3EX pack comes with

ProfiLux 3EX controller with built in webserver
2 x PAB digital power bars (12 sockets in sum)
1 x pH probe
1 x temp probe
1 x orp probe
1 x salinity probe
1 x Optical level sensor
1 x Float level sensor
1 x water level bracket assy
2 x sensor holders
1 x complete calibration kit
1 x RS232 data cable
2 x PAB data cables

talk to red corals about pricing.

ugh , were talking starting at a $399 deal and now talking over 2 grand.
I'm starting to get cold feet....
Thanks for the clarification, I'll have to mull it all over.

nothing has to be done in one hit, the level of equipment you have listed is a lot by any standard.

Start off with the starter kit and build on the system as you feel fit.

I may have to do that...
So I have already ordered the pro 2 promotion package.. But it seems that I would actually want a 3ex for what I am going for.
How much additionally would the cost be to upgrade the promo 2 to 3 ex?

the P3 upgrade plus $285 for the EX upgrade as its one huge jump in functionality its like putting one controller in another. You gain massive amounts of options with the EX upgrade.
