Default Chiller Size

Hi there, after a break from the hobby after moving house it is time to think about a new system. I am planning a 160 gallon and will need a chiller, anyone have experience with chillers and if so what size would you recommend?
Thanks
Steve

Depends on how chill you need it to be. If just a couple degrees, a 1/4HP would be fine. More than that, something a bit bigger. Smaller might work, but would run a lot to keep it cool.

My chiller still comes on. Not nearly as much, but on a warmer day, even now, it will kick in for a few minutes.

I am going to put it in my main living area which is south facing, the tank wont get direct sunlight but even at this time of year the room gets lovely and warm from the sunlight!

I was thinking about a chiller as in the past fans have not always been man enough to do the job.

I also intend running T5 lighting as I already have a unit from my last tank.
