Default Invasion of the creepy crawlies

We have been dealing with plague proportions of tent caterpillars in our city this year and its nasty these lil bastards go on a 12 yr cycle and its this year for us

I cleaned my 2 apple trees completely of caterpillars last night doesn't even appear I did anything this morning

It's not pretty and they mow everything down that is in their way

Any spray available that doesn't compromise the apple but kills the caterpillar?
We used to wait till they build the tent, cut the branch down and then burn it.
Tiger torch?

You sure have a lot of them.

That is nothing entire light standards are completely covered in them some yards there is no green just a solid mass of moving blackness. And yes there is sprays and chemicals available but there are so many it's virtually futile to try and eradicate them. Soap and water work great but you literally have to spray every hr to keep them off the trees. I have tinfoil wrapped around the trunk of the tree but there are literally thousands they just bridge the tinfoil it's nasty.

They would get so bad at the farm that we would start up a bonfire and just shovel off the front walkway, like 6 inches of snow, and throw those slimy bastards in to the fire. We actually had highway warnings and accidents because the roads would get too slick due to the squished carcasses upon carcasses of those slimy bastards.
