Default Netting for tank top vs. eggcrate

I am thinking of getting a netting type tank lid from Bulk Reef supply to replace my current eggcrate tank top, in order to get more light on my corals.

Just wondering who has used these, in particular if anyone has experience of the change in light intensity or done any measurements of light intensity.

the clear 1/4" netting will have no effect on your lighting. The starboard (aka eggcrate) is super ugly and probably has a small negative effect.

why are you concerned with covering the surface of your tank?
