I'm back!
just got back from a semester of field school on the Vancouver Island at the Bamfield marine station. frigging amazing, but text is boring. picture time!
For a 3.5 months, this was my playground some doodle in class. we carve bullkelp heads hydroids are a lot cooler than most people give them credit for anemones kick A$$ around here fish up the hoohaw my dive buddy patrick we care about animals round here. we revived this humboldt squid that washed ashore. field trips have their own inherent hazards grunt sculpin hiding in a moonsnail shell. how cute is this?! the eye of a giant pacific octopus. my study animal Oregonia gracilis. he's decorated himself with bits of flagging tape. a sunset boat ride is a sweet way to end a day. |

So awesome. I love it out in Bamfield .. if I were to "do it all over" I'd be out there in the field station too.
Wicked photos, thanks for the share!

Cool. I too have spent some time in Bamfield. Beautiful area! Is the road to Alberni any better yet? It used to be not much more than a wagon trail. Access by boat was about the only way to get in.
