I ended up buying mine at what I believe was called Ocean City at the time; I have no idea what the place is called now as it seems to change hands almost annually.

It's the one that's on the south side of 16Ave, Just west of Centre street N. Almost right across from Wai's.

Just went there. They don't carry them anymore. Any ideas where I can get some float switches locally in Calgary?

I think your last resort might be to talk with concept aquariums. They might be able to help you out. Or worst case, you will have to ship it to your door. Or you can just give gold's a call and see whether they have any. Other than that, I don't really see any other option
