I get the white fittings. Work good.

I hate the white ones ... Sch40 are restrictive
Compare the insides of them against Sch80 and you'll see what I mean. Big difference |

Water goes through holes, I'm happy.

Yup, it does.
Guess it all comes down to how much water you want to go through said holes When planning plumbing I look at the fittings and see Sch40 cuts down flow considerably when it comes to unions/valves etc Not my choice for parts, but to each his own. Or just what they can find locally |

Yup. I simply need water to fall into sump, go back into tank. Done. The lumbing I have can support 5 times the flow I use, so whatever fitting home depot sells does the job. The entire plumbing job on my tank cost less than 20 bucks.

There's always a possibility of that
Something from a few years ago is trying to come back to me. I bought some parts from Rona, and some from Vancouver Irrigation. I'd swear the skid40 from Rona had a smaller I.D. than the skid80 stuff from VI. Didn't make sense to me at the time as 1" is 1". I realize they both accept the same pipe size. I'm thinking it was a valve comparison. May have been between a ball and true union ball. Can't remember. Last edited by gregzz4; 05-31-2015 at 12:24 AM. |
