Default Sick GBTA...help!!!

I have a gbta that was healthy last month but today I found it sitting in my sand bed when I came home.

I had put in a new wp25 and knew it didn't like the flow so it moved on the inside of the rock it originally settled on where it was protected from the flow but it was also in the shade. I figured it would eventually move to a place it'd like but it stayed on that rock in the shade and I guess eventually got too weak and fell to the sandbed.

I've scooped him up and placed him into a breeder trap in my tank.

Is there any hope for it to recover and does anyone have any suggestions? If it deteriorates anymore should I take it out of my tank?

Check and double check your water parameters. They are very susceptible to changes in your water. If it starts to look worse I would highly recommend getting it into a quarantine tank. I have seen an anemone die and crash a tank a few times now ( once in person, countless on forums)

My parameters are fine. Little high in trates because my skimmer is off. Other corals are open and happy. My rbta is doing fine and is healthy. I think he's hasn't been getting light and is malnourished if that's possible.

Don't mess with it! Patience...

Leave it in the breeder box. Don't try to feed it, med light & if there can be a light flow over the box that would be great. Just to change out and move a bit of the water....

Check your water & do a water change, just cause.

If it starts melting (important to not take chances) just toss it... If it implodes in your tank... That's bad it's easier to buy another one.

i think they do best in a bit of water movement. i think the box will be too still and the water will not get changed enough. can you put him in a rock crevace where he will get light and little flow?

The box has vents in the sides of it that allow water flow. I tried putting it on a rock before putting in the box but it wouldn't latch on and the current would push him under or even worse by getting sucked up by my wp25. I will do a WC when I get home after work. I've made new water. I've asked wifey to keep a lookout and if he starts to melt to take the breeder box out of the tank. He will get some light since the box is stuck to the front of the glass up high near the lid but he's not directly under the LEDs.

the pic of him on the sandbed beside a rock actually looks like a good spot for him (unless he is being picked) i used to try and 'fix' them if they looked like they needed help. now i will only move rocks to make them happier or leave them be and watch.

After I did my water change, he started to break apart in the breeder. Little bits and pieces of him breaking off so I had to take it out of my DT. RIP.
