Default Snails wont touch sand?

Hey

i have 3 turbo, 3 cerith, 3 nassaurius, 3 astrea, 3 magarita and none of them will touch my sand... they are pretty new in the tank and are doing a great job everywhere.. but not so much with the sand...

is this normal... and does anyone have any suggestions for sand sifters or creatures that will eat algea off of sand.

my tanks a 33 gallon with 20 gallon sump.

thanks
craig

if your nassarius snails wont go on the sand, it is possible they are actually a whelk. whelks can actually be a predatory problem and are often misidentified by an LFS. could you post a picture of the "nassarius snail"?

the rest of those snails will usually stick to the glass or rock work.

in a tank that size i think nassarius snails are the best thing you could put in the sand bed, they should be turning it over all the time.
