Default aquasafe RO/DI problems

I hope somebody can steer me in the right direction.
Last year I bought a used 100 gal/ day aquasafe 5 stage system from another reefer on this board. Well the time has come to install this unit for a 120 gal tank that is being set up. The unit never came with any instructions and I have struck out looking on the web for installation instructions. ( nice web site aquasafecanada.com !! ) I have put new prefilters in and new DI resin. I hooked the unit up to a cold water supply and have the output coming from the DI cartridge to a float valve on a 50 gallon blue plastic tank (barrel), I'm not using the final water polishing filter. The waste water line goes from the check Valve? to a drain in the floor. When I turned on the water the system fills up and starts filling the drum. The problem is it fills the drum in 1 hour and I can not see any waste water coming from the ro cartridge, this is clear tubing. the TDS in measures 212 and measures 140 coming out. I thought it was a bad ro cartridge so I put a new one on and the exact same thing happens. I have the same TDS as well as speed filling the barrel. I am stumped as to what the problem is.

Sorry for the long winded explanation but I wanted to try and explain everything.

Default auto stop valve

one more request could somebody please post a picture or diagram of the valve with the 2 inlets and 2 outputs. When I reversed the input lines it seems to be functioning properly. will need to wait for some water to be produced to see if the TDS is correct.

Cheers!
Geoff

That is a solenoid that will activate and shut off water production if a float valve is installed. All you need to do to test if it is working is plug the good effluent and it should stop the water flow

Default ro problems

Thank you to everyone!!
After testing the water out the TDS was still in excess of 150 ( Grrrr!!) found the lines from the output of the ro filter were reversed and the waste water was going through the di to the drum. Having fixed this now the TDS is now under 100 and dropping. I will let this work for a while (overnight ) and flush the membrane and see where I stand.

Cheers!!
Geoff
