Default Removing an attatched feather duster. Please advise?

Not sure if it can be done successfully or not? I have a feather duster I would like to trade/sell. However, it's tube has been attatched to a rock. Is there any way of removing it safely? Can i just tear it off at the base/cut it.. or will it die? Thanks in advance for any input and suggestions...

Scott,

A feather dusters tube is strictly made of detritus, small sand grains, and mucus from the worm itself, so yes you can tear it off at the base. Just make sure to slowly pinch the bottom of the tube with gently pressure to allow the worm to move up a little, the crown(feathers) should be fully open that way you will know the worm is at the upper half of the tube.

Hey, that's great.. thanks Rich I had a feeling it was okay to remove them, I just didn't want to go and harm it, or possibly kill it.

Thanks again,
