does it look like this in the water?if so it's a stomatella snail, they are good algae eaters

They are good untill you get over run with them, look at your tank at night, see if you have a bunch or way to many. I have been harvesting them for about 6 months, just picking them off the rocks aprox 20 to 50 a week. They can breed like rabits.

So what negative effects do you notice from them? If you have too many, you must have too much algae. Their will always be a balance in any ecosystem and having too many algae eaters when you have too much algae doesn't make any sense to me
