Default Zeo and diatoms

Since running zeo I've had a diatoms outbreak. But only on glass. I try to let it burn out but to no avail. I know that zeo rocks contain silicates

Anyone experience this and tips to be rid of it

sponge power is mainly silicates. SP would essentially be fuelling your diatoms.

how long have you been dosing Zeostart? if you have been at ulns for a while you may be over dosing and the film that you are seeing might be excess bacteria.

you could cut the SP for a few weeks while everything settles out and your diatoms disappear. or revisit the amount of ZStart your adding

I have been experimenting with sponge power and coral vitalizer, I have noticed in my tank that even with a slight over dose it will cause a layer of diatoms on my glass, even when I cleaned it the night before. Very potent stuff.

What else are you dosing? OD on Aa, cv, xtra and fws will also cause brown film on glass. I also would agree on lowering your start dosage. I'm dosing 0.4ml twice per day for 120g heavy bioload tank. Also here's are link you might find useful.

Thanks I'll lay off the SP for a few weeks and see.
I'll cut back the zeo start to . 15 which was my starting dosage
As for other additive I was dosing half recommended and building up from there.
The problem was from beginning which Sp was the only extra additive I was using

Hope this worksss

Thank you
