That was a rough 3rd period to watch. We dominated the rest of the game, shame they fell apart in the third. Good job of the russians picking that up though, I guess we know why a big chunk of the NHL's russian now :P

whats funny is the TSN announcers were saying the NHL was starting to shy away from getting players from Russia for there was a noticeable lack of interest in the sport over the last few years there. Supposedly their domestic league (KHL?) is in a lot of trouble and up until last year they didn't even have a junior program (i dunno what they meant by that because hasn't Russia been in the World Juniors every year since forever?!?!? - maybe they mean a OHL/WHL like program?)


Gotta hand it to them though - they didn't play dirty and turned up the skill in the 3rd.

It really did seem to me that the Russians were way more interested in playing hockey and controlling the puck while the Canadians seemed to focus on trying to line up big hits. Some beautiful moves by the Russians

And yet the scoring leader is a canadian, with a couple of swedes somewhere in the mix.

they just played like the Flames. Up 3 nothing and fell apart in the third.
