Default Need advice asap!!!!

Ive been hearing an odd sound from my tank the past few evenings, and i was curious so i took alook all around tonight and noticed that the bottom trim on my tank is all cracking and bowing out, should i be draining the tank right now, do i need that trim? the tank about a year old and has i belive a 5 year warranty, i am starting to panic the brace on the bottom is all bowed out.but i thought that trim was aesthetic. that bottom trim raises the tank so the bottom doesnt sit on anything. I am using an AGA stand. Any advice would be great!!

The trim is aesthetic but what is causing it to crack? Is the glass starting to bow out? If it is I would look at pulling everything before it ends up on the floor. I had one tank that was bowing out, it held but sure made me nervous till I took it down.

the glass isnt bowing but with the trim crackin the aquarium is starting to lean. should i be draining it to remove that trim? It is making me nervous. There is enough pressure on the one corner now that is it creating a gap in the stand... I dont know what to do.... 90 gallons at 2am in the morning with no new tank to move it to... Do i wait to take picture for warranty?

Edit: On further note the bottom trim is crack completely through and is all around on side of the aquarium, ill enclose some pictures right away!

It looks like with the tank sagging to the side with the broken trim its causing the stand to split as well.... I am at a loss for what to do at 2am....

If you have some wood (2x4's or something), I would try and add some extra bracing to stand. Don't put any bracing under the tank as you can easily crack the tank by throwing the pressure off.
Best you can do is hope it hold till tomorrow, then start getting things out. It may hold indefinitely, but I would not take that chance.

Good luck;
Kelly

i guess the questions is, is this tank pooched? Is the integrety of the tank now comprimised, all the glass appears fine and none of the actual glass is bowing as far as i can tell....

Also the tank is only about a year old. Its supposed to have a 5 year warranty on it. I believe the damage was cause by the trim first failing, and the added weight to the one side is causing the stand to n ow fail. When i set up the tank i had it percectly level. With all this going on last night its maybe a half inch off now.

you really won't know until you you can fully inspect the tank...

if you can do the drain.. then do it and inspect the tank when it's empty...if you have a wack of livestock then see what you other options might be!
