I have Red bugs in my SPS tank and want to use Interceptor but I also have 4 clams and a Crispa anemome, will the medicatoon affect these inverts ????
or does anyone else have some advise?
I have considered doing dips for my corals but I was told that the bugs are not only on the corals but also the rock.
I have only seen the bugs on a couple of corals.

Your advise is greatly appreciated

i remeoved my corals and placed them in a qt tank and treated them in there. i read that after 5 days the bugs should be dead in the main tank if all the acros are gone.. this seems to have worked well. i have not seen any red bugs and it is 4 weeks out.

Interceptor did not affect my clam or my RBTAs when i treated.
If you have any starfish though make sure to pull them out before treatment.

I have seen red bugs attack other sps besides acro's. When I had them they were all over my M danae's as well. They are like spider mites and make webs and can be everywhere. I would treat the whole tank if it was me. When I did mine I lost my hermits, pm shrimp and most acro crabs. I still had a thriving pod population and no ill affect on my cleaner shrimp, but that can be hit & miss. No affect to my starfishes either but again hit & miss. It unfortunately didn't kill my killer crab.

When I used it it had no adverse on my clams or evil xanthid crabs. It did however kill all of my acro crabs. The last treatment I did was 3x dosage for about 8 hours.

What is the recommended amount of interceptor for so many gallons of water? Does someone have a good thorough link they can post to explain the process from start to finish?

Try this post. I personally used 1.5 large pills and left the system of 200 gallons for 5-6 days. then did my regular sized water change.
