I've never had either but the consensus seems to be a herbie or bean animal
Both dead silent with the bean Animal being set and forget and the herbie needs some adjusting once in a while. I've seen both and they are silent. My durso is not.
Herbie needs 2 holes bean animal needs 3

That is kind of the limiting factor

FWIW, I run a durso and it's dead silent. Depends on what kind of flow you put through it

herbie is my preferred method super easy to plumb , dead silent , I also have starfish in my overflow so its nice and easy to keep the water level high when I turn my pumps off to feed .

Default overflow

usually when you have 2 holes in the overflow, and i'm assuming the holes are in the bottom of the tank, one is for the return and one is for the drain.in that case i would use a stockman
