You're welcome

Do you think it might be gametes released from the GSP??

I have no idea - just based my pic from one that is in this thread.

http://canreef.com/vbulletin/showthr...hlight=spawned

but no clear definition of what the eggs are from - searched the word Turbinaria as mentioned in the post but that is a huge family of different looking corals. Just trying to narrow it down abit...

That link you posted looks like GSP too. I thought Turbinaria were hard corals with small polyps? Heck I thought I had a chunk of turbinaria in my tank but I'm not so sure now

Edit: I wonder if they meant Tubipora?? That pic does sort of look like pipe organ coral.

Looks like it is GSP spawning since looking around on the net alittle more - kinda neat looking - most posts say that they are very happy and just trying to take over the world lol - Turbinaria was just mentioned at the top of that post then the pic from sam lower down so i thought maybe my encrusting coral above my GSP caused the eggs = apparently not. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be a bad thing for the tank.

Cheers

The coral above the GSP looks like yellow Porites. I have no idea how they spawn but I would imagine that the eggs would be off in the flow somewhere not buried in the star polyps. Pretty neat. I don't know if I'd want GSP taking over my tank in that fashion though
