Default How much light is too much light

There's a neat looking tank sitting at PetCetera..., however you spell that... it's 16L according to the box, supposed to measure 23X6X8 ... if you were to go say 2X36 from AH Supply that would be 72 W of CF light over er, 4 or so gallons... isn't that plenty? I'm asking people in the hopes that I don't spend $200 on something that can't support life. HELP.

There are those who say you can never have too much light, but in reality what do you want to keep in this little nano Chances are very good that nothing you want to put in there will need that much light. 2x13W may well be plenty. But then again, it is your choice

I've got 195watts of PC on a 15 gallon, nothing is hurting because of it. I've got a gold maxima clam that's rather enjoying the light.

Someone was saying the other day that some guy on RC or RDO has a 400w halide over a 10 gal or something...

That would be very hot, and very narrow spectrum.

I kept a 250W Iwasaki over my old 20g for like 2 years .... only downside was that it did get a little warm on the hot summer days (there were no fans on that tank..)
