Default Quick question on brass/copper fitting.

Yesterday I had a john guest fitting crack on me(after the ro/di unit)... I had to quickly replace it with a copper/brass fitting (the gold ones) then forgot to cut the water off. I have about 15 gal of water already made now. Will it have leached anything into the water? is it ok to use this water?

If not it looks like my moms plants are gonna get some really clean drinking water lol...

Yeahhh....I wouldn't do it.

It MAY not but it's a new fitting so.... I wouldn't risk your inverts over 15 gallons of water.

(I'm not an expert tho, just paranoid) heh heh

If the fitting was post DI, then definitely do NOT use the water. De-ionized water is "hungry" for ions and will suck it out of any metal. That's why you should never store RO/DI water in any sort of metallic container.
