Melafix is an antibacterial treatment, Not sure how that would work on anthropods and flatworms. I haven't read about it in regards to treating pests but will check into it.
When I had black bug I tried everything from Coral RX, revive, fresh water dips to Hydrogen peroxide and those things just laughed at those treatments, I killed more corals than black bugs. It was only until I used Bayer that I was able to kill black bugs. I wasn't able to get the black bugs out of my tank until I dosed the tank with several double doses of milbemycin oxime. I also found several AEFW on new frags after a Coral RX dip. I have yet to find anything left on my sps corals when I dip with Bayer and I have yet to kill a coral. I fully inspect my new corals with a dissecting microscope before adding the coral to my quarantine tank after treating with Bayer.
