Default Prices for new tanks

Hello all.

My fiance and i are looking at moving to a newer house sometime in the next year or 2 and when that happens, i would like to set up a new tank instead of moving my current setup.

I currently have a 75g but i think i want to move up a bit in size. My options are going to be limited to the space available which i dont know yet, but in order for me to budget, i need to know how much im looking at. All the tank journals are awesome to read over but there is a lack of prices shown =P.

I would REALLY like to set up a 150g 48Lx24Hx30W with an external overflow. I know the odd size alone makes it necessary to get it custom built, but i dont want to start calling tank builders (who by the way i have no idea who does it around edmonton) until im closer to pulling the trigger. If that falls outside the budget then ill have to start keeping a close eye on the FS listings.

I just dont know what to expect with a custom built tank, so im looking for a ballpark number.

You have 2 choices in Edmonton, Neil at Neil glassworks or David at Aquagiant

David did my tank

David also did all of Marine Experience tanks, check with Neal

It's hard to guess on something custom. Overflow style glass clarity ( starphire vrs reg float) rimless euro braced one piece euro raced the options can go on for ever. So to manage a guess could be way off the true cost.. I'm sure they don't mind you bothering them so that you can have a ballpark price to save up for

umm i think thats a typo. that would make a 150gal tank $15,000. that sounds a bit excessive
