Default Which looks better 5000K or 6500K light?

Which looks better 5000K or 6500K light? I am looking into getting some new lighting systems made for my fresh water tanks. I'll prbably use t-8's.

Cheers,
Vic [veng68]

Its all aobut preferance. If you liie more blue I would go with a 6500 if you like it more white i woulk go with the 5000. Personaly I used actinics on my freshwater tank not only for looks but it brought out the red and blue in my fish and the plants seemed to like it alot more. JM2C

Something in the 5000k range would look more yellow than white IMO. To me a 6500k bulb is closer to white. I tried bulbs in the 5000k-6000k range (I forget the exact K rating) over my plant tank and I just didn't like it.... the 6500k bulb looked best to me.
