Default What is the name of this?

Hi...We have 3 white looking anemone's in our 90g tank and 1 in the 150g. We originally started out with 2 from the person we purchased the tank from, but they have split to make the 4 that we now have. Upon doing some research it was noted that if an anemone is white it is a bad thing because it is a sign that, that anemone has bleached because of insuffient lighting. These anemone's have started out white and have remained a white color for the last 3 months and continue to grow. There are other BTA's in both tanks that are not white and they are some what in the same locations as these 'white anemone's'. Just wondering if this is indeed white anemone's that we have??

This last is a picture of a BTA that is in the one tank with the white one.

Yes they do look like bleached BTAs . With very little zooxanthellae, they wont be able to get much food from the lights, what seems like growth is them reaching up and expanding to catch as much light as they can. If you can offer them a bit of food each day, they may start to recover. But just a tiny bit to begin with, until you know they are eating it. Often they will take the food but later spit it out when the lights are out, you don't want to feed a lot incase it fouls the tank. Mixed sea food is best, if you can puree it in a blender so its like a paste, it will be easier for them to digest leaving more energy for recovery. If you cant blend it, chop it up as fine as you can. BTA's will often split when they're stressed , it a survival tactic where one may die, but maybe the other will live. Keep your fingers crossed and may be you will end up with a few nice BTAs.

To be honest...at first we were like "WOW..right on!!!" Who wouldn't want something like this to be true? People can dream about having something rare or exotic in their aquarium, no? But then we wondered why only one person had posted that info...and why some one else hadn't posted something along the lines of this confirming the post 'Yes...I think that is what they may be too. I have seen a picture and heard about these very rare anemone's'. Then we thought, hmmm something seems a little fishy about this!!!!

So it is all good..we soon realized and know now there is no such 'anemone' lol!!!! Thank you for everybody's INPUT and info given to us about our anemone's..

sgreen, if those are RBTAs ( rose bubble tip anemones ) they do bring a nice price once they color up. Not $600 mind you, the stores sell them around $80 or so for a nice one, board members usually sell them $50-$60 to each other.
If they end up GBTA ( Green ) they're still a nice anem, but the price is about !/2. The last pic of yours is an RBTA.
