Default Peppermint Shrimp... DEAD?

Hey all,

I just put my peepermint shrimp into my tank on thursday and i found it dead behind my filter intake. It still has all it's colour and i would have expected it to atleast be a bit clear.
Is it actually dead did it molt? It looks like the flesh is still in it... sad.gif
My params are as follows:
Ammonia-0 (could possibly be .1)
Nitrate-0
Nitrite-0
Ph-8.5
SG-1.025

Everything else is showing no signs of stress or any problems, zoas are out, mushroom is the biggest it's ever been, frogspawn is growing nicely, snails are active, so are the hermits.

WHAT COULD THE PROBLEM BE???

Thanks
SeaSerpant

You needed to acclimate it longer, try that next time.

I don't know if thats the problem, i drip acclimated it until it's colour was back and it had calmed down, (maybe an hour or longer) and then i did a dip in aquarium water and added it to the tank! It was active for the last few days and ate all the aiptasia!

But that may be it!

Thanks

I replied in your thread...your tank is too new for a shrimp. Generally, they are rather sensitive, and need a tank that is more established. They do require a long drip acclimation period...2-3 hours is best.

Thanks Guys,
Okay, so my test kits are 2 years old so i can't vouch for their accuracy, the test for copper says that their is virtually none but it says there is .08ppm and my dad thinks it's the indicators that makes it say there is some, so he says that there is none!

Thanks
