Default Good sump desing for a standard 20g

I am trying to convert a 20g standard tank to a sump.

What is the best design?

I am thinking 3 chambers: incoming (protein skimmer), refuge, return. I am not sure about the length for each section I should provide. I have not decided what protein skimmper yet. My DT is 50g.

Any advices?

Paul

Get ypur skimmer or at least find the dimensions of throne you plan on buying. Then you build to suit that. Also provide enough roomful return pump as this is the section you will notice the evaporation from. Ifyou don't have ato.then.the return pump section should be able to.handle at.least a full day of operation so You can fill it when home. Thought would really suggest ato
