Default Best HOB skimmer

So recently I had a coralife super skimmer 65 for my 40 gallon cube and once I upgraded and cleaned it it never worked the same just a mass amount of micro bubbles were produced. Then I bought a aqua c remora and I notice one my 54 gallOn corner bow it's not skimming anything well at leave 90% of the time. So at the time I can't do a sump due to the fact these tanks can't be drilled and I don't wanna but I've been told to go eshopp and aqua c pro any input would be great I've got about 5 sps and doing 16 gallon water change very week or 2 at the most
All parameters are good from mag to phos I'm also running a phosban reactor with tlf media.
Thanks again

I have a Deltec MCE-600.
Works great. doesn't stick out far. I only wish the cup were bigger so I don't have to empty it so much!

Might be overkill.
You can look into the CPR skimmers, they do well 40ish gallon tanks. The Deltec is actually overkill for a 40...
My Deltec skims a 40 display with a 30 sump so maybe 55-60 gallons volume.
