I wish I could actally see this walking thing! It was happening for almost a month, I'd wake up to find the green one (pictured) sitting on top of the purple one and I thought nothing of if til it happed 3-4 times so I thought it was the current so I switched them and the same thing happened, that's when I figured it wasn't the current! I ended up having to put a rock between them and that fixed the problem!

well technically walking for plates is one of the things that is best you never see. happy plate corals don't need to move.

it's receding, not a good sign. If you have something irritating it then you could try moving it elsewhere. Feed it too and that should help.
