Whatcha buildin'? Industrial paints and plastics is the first one off the top of my head. If all you need is 1/4" your local glass shop may have some.

1/4" acrylic is good for about 12" of depth. Check out garf.org and look for the DIY calculator. Once you plug in your dimensions it'll spit out a cut list and recommend what to use for thickness. Works well I've used it a couple times.

That being said, I just built a fuge that is 24" deep for the back of my new 33 gal. It's constructed out of 1/4". It is braced in several spots and bows out a bit. It hasn't blown yet and has been in use for 2 weeks. I wouldn't recommend 1/4" for anything that deep. The other tank I built from 1/4" is 24x12x14 and is eurobraced. I doesn't seem to bow and has been holding for about 6 months.

Let us know how you make out.

Brad
