Picked one of these up from a home depot in the
states for use on my refugium. Puts out fantastic
light and was growing my caulerpa like mad.
But....

Don't do it. Had one for 4-5 weeks now, it died
on me on the weekend. Went and got it replaced,
died last night. I'm going to open it up and see
if I can find what's wrong, but I suspect
something probably blew.

Damn shoddy american products :/

These units are designed for outdoor use. the heat from indoors and in your cabinet cause the ballast components to fail. APparently drilling some large holes in the enclosure allows for sufficient ventilation.

No cabinet, very well ventilated area.

Never really got too hot, was keeping an eye on it :( Was contemplating drilling holes but it
didn't seem to need it.

Oh well.
