Default how long will live sand last?

have all my sand in a tub of water, no heater or powerhead, how long will it be ok like that??

Not that long. With no heat or water movement you are going to get die off and the water will start to stink It might not go completly dead but I would test you water alot after you put it in your tank

I've heard that filter cartridges (talking freshwater here) will begin to dieoff after 4 hours of no water/air/food circulation. I don't think LS would stay nontoxic for more than a day.
