I was in there yesterday, it was side by side with a blue line. The ecoray was considerably brighter(it does have optics though), it also had deeper penetration into the tank. I beleive the tank is 30"(I could be wrong). It actually looked alright to me. Just my 2cents.

I have this light on my 25 gallon, it (and one more) will be going onto my 90 in the next month or two. I went with it because the metal halide was heating my tank (and living room) way too much, and they are supposed to last a really long time. (we'll see)
