Default Lighting over a 24in 6foot tank?

So currently I have an corallife aqualight 150 pro over my 180

its got 13k 150w giesemann for the MH
it also has 4 PC actinics

The bulbs are coming up for replacement and I want to get some ideas what you guys would go with

I like the bluer look over the white

people are saying 14k phoenix for the MH

since the tank is 24in I want to make sure enough light is going into it. So could i replace the actinic with 50/50 bulbs (10k and true actinic)

Whats the downside?

Ive also been eying the DIY LED option but probably wont touch that until next year.

I just bought a phoenix 14k, and lets just say... its blue for a 14k. i recommend it

but still, a 150watt over a 24" tank is a bit on the weak side. I would consider upgrading to 250watts

I knew it you would look at your lighting I thought after our talk that you would stay with it .. lol

you have my opinion on that If they would make DE 250 bulbs like the 150's i would stay , but since they dont I can't see myself breaking a $130 bulbs or a $100 and then throw it away.

if you have a Deep sand bed like 3"- 4" and your 150's are just fine if you are just keeping the lps and softies . from looking at your tank it doesn't seem to be starving for Light Milad.

I took a look at your build as well, no need to upgrade imo. But yes I would buy the phoenix bulbs if they are due to be replaced

and trust me, you won't need any supplimental unless you want it bluer

The Phoenix is a amazing bulb I had it when I ran my 250's excellent brand and the par lasts for like 12-15 months easy. the actinics I would replace them and then start running them for the morning and night supplement lighting that is it...

I always used the phoenix 14k as well in my 150. but I also found the fishneedit 20k looked the same and could order 4 or 5 shipped for the same price.

No idea, I used to care about such things... Till I realized it only serves MY purposes, not my livestock. My livestock never noticed a difference, good or bad, so I used em.
