Only thing I've ever checked is the salinity for many years. No issues, but wouldn't you know it, I decided to buy a batch of IO in the cardboard box instead of a bucket a few months ago and after a couple water changes, my tank started crashing..... in recovery mode now with a couple water changes using a new bucket.

I mixed up some salt (RC) and will test tomorrow. Funny thing is I do WC biweekly and my nutrients have stayed the same for the longest time Nitrates 2-5ppm (Salifert) and Phosphates 0.02ppm (Hanna Phosphate checker). I tested today like every Sunday and noticed an increase in my PO4 at 0.10ppm.

I recently bought 4 new pails of RC on Black Friday... and I have done two WC’s using one of the new pails... I’m hoping it’s not a source of phosphate as mentioned above.

Ok so I tested my fresh batch of RC before my WC and this is what I found.

1. RC / 0.00ppm in new batch.
2. 1.026.
3. Hanna Phosphate Checker.
4. RODI water / 0ppm phosphate off line.
5. Edmonton, AB.

Seems like that bucket is not affected. When I crack open another new bucket I will check again.
