Default Does Anyone Dose for Iodine?

Does anyone else have low iodine? Is it a common thing? My shrimp haven't been molting normally and I have discovered that my iodine is really low and I am having a hard time keeping it at a normal level. I have read that you shouldn't dose for iodine because it is very complicated. Dose anyone dose daily for it? My bubble coral has shrunk some in the last week and a half and I am not sure if it is related to the low iodine. Any thoughts or help would be great.

Leanne

I use very small amounts like4-5 drops once a month for 300+ gallons it helps with purples and blue in sps and zoas from what I understand.

Yes you can dose iodine. Zeovit makes a couple types:
Iodine Complex and, the one I use Potassium Iodide Fluoride Concentrate.
You don't NEED to use them, but it does help improve color and health in some corals. Lugols solution is iodine, and is often added to tanks.

I have to say that I do believe now when they say that shrimps need iodine too as one of my cleaner shrimps almost had no antennas left and he started growing algae on his shell. I started dosing iodine in the last week or so and he just molted this morning with almost normal antennas again. I am just wondering why my iodine is so low when it seems like this isn't that common of a problem with the shrimps. My other corals are doing great with the exception of my bubble.
