Default ASM G2 Gate Valve Mod

Hello;
I ended up grabbing a ASM G2 for my FOWLR. Set it up very easily but the microbubbles that are going back into my tank are just crazy right now. So I am going to do the gate valve mod.
My question is has anyone attempted this with the asm or euroreef and what was the result?
(It's supposed to be an easy mod)

Here's some threads about the gate valve mod. I don't think it's going to help with micro bubbles though, you might need more baffles in your sump or a filter bag for the output.
I have done it on 2 Euroreefs and it gets rid of the sponge (which might actually make bubbles worse) and makes adjustments easier.
Try a search on RC as well, ASM club and Euro-reef club.

I have the ASM G5X and it moves a lot of water. I added the gate valve upgrade and it not only helped with the micro bubbles it also eliminated the water noise.
