I've seen this in person. In China, there are a lot of public state run gardens where you pay to get in. It's incredible, the amount of koi they have. The picture doesn't really give you the true scale. Most of those fish are around a meter long. They have dozens of people tending to each koi pond, ( cheap labor) and the ponds are huge. Some are like small lakes.
