I have no problems feeding my rotifers artificial greenwater made with spirulina powder.
I put the powder (occasionally flakes if out of powder) in a blender with a little water and blend it for two minutes MINIMUM. Then I add more water to it and after mixed, pour the blend through my rotifer mesh to capture any large particles. I store it in a pop bottle in the fridge.
While it can dirty up a container faster, it has the added advantage of providing a more nutritious rotifer to use as unless you are using a blend of 3 or more phyto species, the nutrition level will exceed that of the phyto you are using.
If you don't have spirulina right now, you can still do the same thing with any flake food to get you by. Using flake food just makes it harder to micronize the particles than when using powder.
