1.016? isn't that a bit too low? From what I've read all around it should always be b/w 1.022 and 1.024.

Anyway, I'm excited for you! I'm sure this time will be a breeze!

Will you be setting up a new QT tank for this lil fella, considering you got the other three in there for another 5-6 weeks?

1.016 is fine for fish.

Nope. He'll go in with the other 3 and then the clock will re-start
I'd rather not QT a single fish as I find they get too stressed

Albert is correct
From what I've read, having lower salinity for new fish is beneficial for them.
They require less energy to expel excess salt ( which SW fish do constantly ). This leaves them with more energy for healing, digesting, etc. They are less stressed so do better.
I wouldn't do it in a DT, but it's good in a QT when they are new

My B-day gift from my Wife arrived today

Seachem still tests 0ppm-ish, and the Hanna tests 0.05
With an error margin of +/- 0.04, it's hard to say for sure but I think my PO4 is under control

Orange back looks awesome. I was eyeing some the other day but have no place for one just yet.

You need one in your new build

New little Coris ate right away, and was staying out after lights out
Here's to hoping he does better than the sick little last guy

Orange-back started eating pellets today

Crappy pic for posterity

A big thanks to Albert Dao for all his help recently
I won't get into it, but he has been a super big help lately

After much talking about my corals, I'm going to cut my lighting back a bunch, and disconnect my Carbon and GFO reactors

Hopefully this will revive my failing corals

Here's looking forward to some happier critters

Forgot to mention, and for looking back on things, here's a pic of my failing purple birdsnest that I butchered tonight

Summer

Christmas

Today after butchering all the dying crap
I hope it comes back ...

Hopefully the lower lighting schedule and removing the Carbon/GFO will give some good results ...

I've also had some Acan recession happening

I and a valued helper have looked them over very closely
Neither of us can see any reasons for unhappy corals, so, after a dip, they are going to be monitored and I'll cross my fingers

I guess this is my first round of learning how to keep corals happy
I thought I was doing well, but obviously I'm still new to this

Time will tell ....
