I have to agree - could do without the traumas, but it wouldn't be the same!
So much more fun to tell the install story, "Blah, blah, blah - and I bled all over the carpet, but I didn't need any stitches and the tank was fine."

How soon do you think before its on the stand & filled?

Funny that it is true for most of us hey. Thanks for the compliments too.

I may start the swap towards the end of the week, may have to wait till next Monday as i may go away this weekend. I also need to let the silicone dry/cure for a bit before I start to fill it and will try not to rush it.

I will be working on the plumbing over the next few days. I will have it all cut to size ready for glue.

The family is going to enjoy looking at the tank sitting on the kitchen table for the next few days at meal time - LOL

Default Swapping Tanks

Well tonight I got started on doing the swap from the 55 gallon temp tank to my 120gal. So far it has gone without a hitch - touch wood!

Couple of shots before i began.

First thing on the list to do was to remove some water and save it in a couple of buckets. I removed my coral and got it into couple of the buckets.

Then proceded to remove more water, once i had another bucket pretty full of water I place all my rock in it.

Then a little more water in a smaller bucket for the live stock.

they are wondering what was going on. The clowns were lost without their buddy!

Once everything was out of the old tank I moved it over to the coffee table and placed everything back in it. I plan on running it this way for the next couple of days while I get the 120 all set up. I have all the plumbing to run, aquascaping and will be going with a skiff of sand. Also I have a little bit of finishing touches to do on the stand and the flooring.

Here is my coffe table tank

I pace the new tank on the stand and started a little bit of the install.

Here is how things sit as of tonight.

I have lots to do over the next couple of days. I dont want to have my live stock and coral in the tank on the table for any longer than I have too.

One thing I have to say is I have a very understanding Wife. First off I built the stand in the middle of our family room. Then the caos of selling my other tank and setting up the 55 gallon. Now I am back at it again doing this swap. Through out all of this she has not given me any hasstle! - thats Love for ya

I am sure that tomorrow I will have another update.

Till then

Can't wait to see this come together, hope it all goes smooth.

Kien, if you don't want to go, just tell him you are coming to my house to help me with mine.

Leah,

I hope it all goes smooth as well!

It will provided that two things don't happen.

1) the tank doesnt leak

2) no fish die

In regards to Kein - I got him 1st but I will tell you what. He comes to my place Saturday and if he has any energy left he can go to yours on Sunday

Nothing like planning his weekend for him!

It will go great.

Are you sure you got him first.
Perhaps I need to offer an extra incentive.
