Once you've mastered the art of 100w of lighting / gallon you gotta get creative.

I had a 135X turnover rate in the 94 gal, why not shoot for this or a little higher int he 30 gal. one thing I can tell you about high flow rates is that it reduces if not elimanates bleaching as I found out by taking a birdsnest from a low light tank and then fragging it up and putting the frags about 6" from the surface in my old tank. the corals should have bleached in 5 min but they didn't bleach at all.

hmmm.. I still don't like the watts per gal comparasons.. doesn't mean anything. I could get that level easy with 100 watt bulbs but they wouldn't grow nothing but algae

I am actualy looking more towards 4.8 watts of light per gal, with this tank

Just thinking about the requisite velocity of that flow and the distance required to disperse. I think the fish might get pinned against the glass

thats why I want a strong swimmer silly besides the flow will reverse after about 5 hours and be chaotic for about an hour then he will be on the other side
