Pretty Cardinal, If you are thinking about picking up another one why don't you wait a bit. My pair had babies, one survived, rest were supper for the tank. The one I have left is a little more than 1/4 inch long and about 3months old now and doing great. I think mine is a male but a bit early to tell yet, and they are hard to tell apart even by experts. I looked at the picture of yours and it looks just like my male. Well congrats on the new addition.

If you want to tell the difference between a male and female bengaii, look at the stomach behind the fins. The female has one thorn, while the male has two.

Also, it is great to hear that yours is eating flake food. Mine won't touch it, unless it is cyclopeeze flake, so I also feed my tank Mysis shrimp, blood worms, and squid.

That sounds good to me I cant tell the difference, can some one post a picture of a male?

Hey Grizz, I have a mated pair and an extra in my other tank if your interested.
they are a pretty boring fish, pretty but don't do much if you want t check it out let me know.later man.

Thanks othicx but it still needs some work to make it a little better and then there is the fact that I really need new bulbs.
