My FT is running off my DT atm so thats not gonna help i dont think, plus frag tank had the major infestation, dt is suffering slowly, but without the red bugs some acros may have a chance...

Yep, I had my FT coming off the DT and just separated it two weeks ago...I started a new cycle for this tank as I think its more beneficial to have two separate stable systems

Its going to be a pain dosing in both tanks (but got that covered already)
I'm going to read that thread you posted to understand these bugs a little better.

the maori wrasse could crush one with its gills im pretty sure, they are for the 30g, has 15 now i think...pretty hard to find sometimes. Im also trying to transfer some acros to tthis system to see if these black bugs can be separated by fragging, so far they look much happier in here...

also i put 2 gold trevally in the 30g for a while and beef them up a bit before they go to the 180 and get bigger, they are awesome..they love food..immensly lol

anyway this tank has become the coral recovery tank i guess, I have 5 x 24w t5's, little skimmer, some loose carbon and maybe a tablespoon of biopellets to keep things clean for now..

To the big tank I added a yellow tail and blue spotted wrasse,

the red coris showed them whos boss for a while, all good a few hours later.

randoms,

A few wrasse ago I gave up on a clean up crew. Surprisingly I still have maybe 5 hermits and a ton of snails that come out at night, this pukani rock has tons of hiding spots. Found a hitch hiking short spine urchin the other day...
