Mazzie injectors supposedly perform quite well, but the larger ones are costly.

Titus makes some pretty sweet mazzie skimmers. You can see them on a link on the left there.

I just want a DIY Mazzei Injector I say one once but I can't find it anymore


hey harvey do you know how to calculate what size a tank I can use my skimmer on??

I'm not 100% sure how skimmer ratings are calculated to be honest

The only method I know of is to calculate the skimmers GPH rating:
4 turnovers per hour x tanks capacity in gallons = GPH rating. How they go from this rating to actual gallons in the tank, I'm not too sure. I guess if you knew the GPH rating of your pump you could solve for the tank capacity, but I'm not sure if it is as simple as that (but that's what I do).

My main chamber of my skimmer is 20" and is made of 6" PVC and I am using a Quiet One Pump Rated at approx 1100 GPH!!
