They look awesome Marie! I hope they do well! (if you can keep an Achilles happy...this should be a piece of cake!)

It's been 24hrs and so far they are still getting along, a bit of chasing but the smaller is showing all the proper submissive posturing so it looks good.

Playing cupid is very nerve wracking when you can't tell the difference between male and female...if only they could talk

Pair looks nice. I've heard of keeping them in small shoals too, but I wonder if it'd be better to do a more species setup then. I kind of like the pair idea myself. Had a pair of flames for a while, in those there is a difference in the tail in the amount of blue that's different between M&F, but it doesn't show up until at least 3" or more apparently. Good luck with the pairing, hopefully it works out.

I decided not to risk my other fish and I am treating the potters with cupramine in a 20g hospital tank. For those that are on the fence about quarantining and treating, it is really a very easy process and doesn't take up much equipment

The fish hate it but they will get over it in time

Oh and for any mods reading this...this thread should probably be in the tank journal forum not here in the pics forum. If you don't mind moving it please

You have to ask them nicely .

It was pure luck on my part that they are getting along but from the research i've done, making sure 1 is a lot smaller then the other betters your chances that they will pair up
