I'd define "Newbie"as someone who has been in the hobby for less than a year because generally speaking after a yr you should sort of know what your doing

One point to make quickly; for "Newbie" members it could be painful to try and navigate all of the abbreviations used here.

Just a thought.

There's an app to solve that problem.....

But yeah sometimes people get a little carried away with abbreviations, Canreef isn't bad for them there are others that you literally need a cheat sheet to read through the thread I've seen it so bad that you need to look at the context of the post to get the right meaning.
